If you are
unable to upload or download files using our direct links, please
use commercial FTP client software.
FTP
CLIENT Software Setup (PC)
We recommend the appropriate version of WS_FTP Pro (a popular FTP client software).
This can be downloaded from www.ipswitch.com.
Follow the directions for setup. When the software is launched, a new
Session Properties window will appear.
Create a new
profile using this information:
Host Name/Address: ftp.dataworld1.com
Host Type: Automatic detect
User ID: dw-ftp
Password: dataworld1
Click the Save Pwd box.
Click Apply. Click OK.
Always use 'Binary' mode to transfer files.
Drag-and drop files in the right-side window.
FTP
CLIENT Software Setup (Mac)
We recommend the appropriate version of Fetch (a popular FTP client
software). This can be downloaded from www.fetchsoftworks.com.
When the software is installed and launched, select (if applicable):
Customize > Preferences from the Main Menu
Click the Upload tab
Be sure that the following boxes are NOT checked:
Add .hqx suffix to BinHex files,
Add .bin suffix to MacBinary files, and
Add .txt suffix to text files.
Now select:
File > New Connection…
Enter this information in the appropriate fields:
Host Name: ftp.dataworld1.com
User ID: dw-ftp
Password: dataworld1
To upload, click Put File button. Locate the file, Click Open.
To download, click Get File button. Locate the file, Click Open.
Be sure Format is MacBinary. Click OK.
Always "Stuff" your file(s).
