FTP Options

If you are unable to upload or download files using our direct link, please use commercial FTP client software.

FTP Client Software Setup (PC)

We recommend the latest version of WS_FTP Professional (a popular FTP client software). This can be downloaded from www.ipswitch.com. 

Follow the directions for installation and setup.
When the software is launched, a new Session Properties window will appear.

Create a new profile using this information:
Host Name/Address: ftp.dataworld1.com
Host Type: Automatic detect
User ID: dw-ftp
Password: public

 

Be sure Save Pwd box is checked.
Click Apply.
Click OK. 

Always "Zip" your file(s) before sending.

Always use 'Binary' mode to transfer files. (This is the Default setting).

Drag-and drop file(s) into the right-side window.

OR

Navigate to file(s) in the left-side window.
Select file(s).
Click --> arrow located between the windows.

FTP CLIENT Software Setup (Mac)

We recommend the latest version of Fetch (a popular FTP client software). This can be downloaded from www.fetchsoftworks.com.

Follow the directions for installation and setup.
When the software is launched, select (if applicable): 
Customize > Preferences from the Main Menu
Click the Upload tab

Be sure that the following boxes are NOT checked:
Add .hqx suffix to BinHex files,
Add .bin suffix to MacBinary files, and
Add .txt suffix to text files.

Now select: 
File > New Connection…

Enter this information in the appropriate fields:
Host Name: ftp.dataworld1.com
User ID: dw-ftp
Password: public

Always "Stuff" your file(s) before sending.

To upload:
Click Put File button.
Locate the file.
Click Open.

To download:
Click Get File button.
Locate the file.
Click Open.
Be sure Format is MacBinary.
Click OK.
